Demographics

Offspring is a 4 year old PvE guild on the Trollbane-EU server, on the Alliance side. We are a community of approximately 80 people. However, only about 40 people form the raiding community, with 30-35 permanent raiding spots. We run 3-4 scheduled raids per week.

Guild philosophy

Offspring's goal is to reach the top in end-game raiding while keeping a friendly and social atmosphere in the guild. While we understand that some players have less time to spend on this game then others, we do demand a certain attitude and dedication to end-game raiding with Offspring. This means high attendance, willingness to spend gold and consumables (potions etc.) to maximize your performance and a desire to play your class to the max.

In return Offspring offers you lots of raiding, a friendly atmosphere, guild leadership that cares about members opinions and in general a well-organized and active raiding community.

What we expect from our members

1. You are a nice person, you're not arrogant or hypocritical and you're able to behave maturely
2. You are able to communicate comprehensible english
3. You are knowledgeable about WoW and your class
4. You are able to attend a minimum of 2 raids per week, between 19:15 and 23:00 server time
5. You have the time and the enthusiasm to prepare with consumables for new encounters

Membership & Attendance

Members are required to attend at least 2 full raids per week. If you're unable to do this for a certain period you are expected to notify us on the forum. Post how often you think you can attend, and the reason for your absence. Also post when you think you will be able to attend regularly again.

Offspring's DKP System

We use a system which rewards a fixed amount of DKP for boss training or boss kills. This DKP can then be spent on items in an open auction, in which anyone who can use the item is allowed to bid. This means that while DKP earnt for raids is fixed, the DKP spent on items varies each time it is auctioned.

Rules during raids

You will be expected on Ventrilo with your in-game name if you want to attend raids. Casual talk over Ventrilo is allowed before the raid has started (before the "buff up" message is given) and during easy trash mobs but keep it civil and easy on the ears, if it starts to get chaotic the raid leader will politely ask everybody to stop talking. Before and during boss fights and difficult trash mobs clear Ventrilo for useful information and tactics.

We're not keen on AFK'ers during raids, but if you have to go AFK announce this in the raid chat and notify an officer. Put follow on a healer to make sure you don't pull adds. If you're going to be AFK for more then 3 minutes also note the reason and how long you'll be AFK.

If you have to leave a raid before it's ended always state the reason in the raid chat and notify an officer. If you do this too often and/or for stupid reasons the officers can decide to give you a DKP penalty.

General behavior

Your actions and behavior reflects upon the guild, so try to refrain yourself from using harsh language, spamming and making a fool of yourself in general chat. If you have an argument with a guildie don't start throwing insults over Ventrilo or raid/guild chat. Try to work it out in whispers, preferably outside of raiding time.
